ACAS presents new guidance for employers in cultivating good understanding as to their legal duties when managing a collective redundancy. The guide is not legally binding but it sets out principles and behaviours behind a good consultation to help employers manage collective redundancies more effectively.

The guidance also contains sample forms (a redundancy selection matrix and a redundancy procedure), case studies, information on the election, roles and responsibilities of employee representatives and advice on looking after employees and the business during redundancy.
