New Minimum Wage Increases.
Minimum wage is set to increase for workers from October this year. The increase will be as follows:
- For workers aged 21 and over the minimum wage will increase from the current rate of £6.19 to £6.31.
- For workers aged between 18 and 20 it will increase from the current rate of £4.98 to £5.03.
- For workers aged under 18 but above the compulsory school age who are not apprentices it will increase from £3.68 to £3.72.
- The rate for apprentices will increase from £2.65 to £2.68. This rate is for apprentices under 19 or those in their first year. If you’re 19 or over and past your first year you get the rate that applies to your age.
